Last Saturday, Newton HomeSchool was fully in charge, breezing past Ark City Christian Academy 59-31 on the road. With Newton HomeSchool ahead 39-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Newton HomeSchool's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alex Bungard, who scored 19 points along with 8 steals and 6 assists, and Jaquale Schumm, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Schumm's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ephraim Oller was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Liberty HomeSchool Alliance had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 57-36 margin over Shawnee Mission Christian.
Newton HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Liberty HomeSchool Alliance, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
