Baseball Game Preview: Station Camp Bison vs. Hendersonville Commandos

The Station Camp Bison will head out to take on the Hendersonville Commandos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Station Camp is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Station Camp came up short against Rossview on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hendersonville and Gallatin had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Commandos' pitcher stepped up to hand the Green Wave a 6-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Commandos in their matchups with the Green Wave: they've now won four in a row.

The result came thanks to Jakob Murphy's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Houston Bogle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Gary Boyd also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hendersonville's record now sits at 16-6. As for Station Camp, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Station Camp couldn't quite get it done against Hendersonville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
