Magdalena had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 49.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-9 win over the Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 65-39 win last Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Magdalena to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Herschbach, who shot 67% from the field en route to 17 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Herschbach's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Joseph Zamora was another key player, going 7-for-13 to rack up 18 points along with six boards and five assists.

Magdalena smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Magdalena's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.7 points on average over those games. As for Cliff, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-6.

Magdalena and Cliff are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Magdalena will face off against Quemado at 5:00 p.m. on March 8th. Magdalena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Quemado likes a good challenge. As for Cliff, they will square off against Gateway Christian at 3:00 p.m. on March 8th. Gateway Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
