Basketball Recap: Hylton Takes a Loss

Hylton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 75-46 loss at the hands of the Woodbridge Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 60-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Hylton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaleb Swanigan dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marshall Scarborough Iv, who posted 16 points.

Even though they lost, Hylton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Hylton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Woodbridge, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hylton has already played their next matchup (against Gar-Field), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Woodbridge has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Charles J. Colgan.
