Westlake and Avon Lake squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Westlake had to settle for second. They lost 54-30 to the Avon Lake Shoremen. The Demons' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Westlake's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liana Ostrowski, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. Husneya Najjar was another key player, putting up ten points.

Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Avon Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Westlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Avon Lake, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-37 win against Unioto on the 26th.
