Volleyball Recap: Lovejoy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Mckinney North + How To Watch

Lovejoy faced McKinney North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Leopards fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Leopards were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Lovejoy actually scored more points across those five sets (104-97), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 15-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-10.

Holland Hutchins paced Lovejoy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hutchins got some help from Emerson Boyd and her 25 assists.

Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 22-10. As for McKinney North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lovejoy is set to take on their familiar foe Melissa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, McKinney North will square off against rival Walnut Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
