Volleyball Recap: Providence Starts off Right with Win over Avon

Providence took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Avon Orioles. The Pioneers were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Orioles, so the Pioneers were just returning the favor.

While Providence might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Avon scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 27-25, 25-22.

Hadley Hasselbring paced Providence's offense, picking up 15 kills. Hasselbring got some help from Rylie Neal and her 25 assists. Neal was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Providence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Lawrence North on the 16th. As for Avon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Castle on the 16th.
