Softball Game Preview: Messalonskee Eagles vs. Edward Little Red Eddies

For the first time this season, Messalonskee will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Edward Little Red Eddies at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

Messalonskee is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cony on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Edward Little gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against Camden Hills by a score of 8-3.

Kassidy Lobb spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emily Poulin, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kylee Lebrun, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Messalonskee came up short against Edward Little when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 10-6. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
