Basketball Recap: Rising Sun Comes Up Short

Rising Sun played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 71-34 loss at the hands of the Eminence Warriors. The Shiners were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-10.

When it comes to explaining why Rising Sun lost, don't look at Brody Morris. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 16 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. That was a full 52.9% of Rising Sun's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Rising Sun smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Rising Sun dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Eminence, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.
