Basketball Recap: Great Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Oxford last Tuesday, Great Valley came back down to earth. The Great Valley Patriots fell to the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights 54-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Golden Knights are ranked 509th).

Great Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Bayard Rustin, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Great Valley will welcome Unionville at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Bayard Rustin, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Upper Merion Area at 12:15 p.m.
