Basketball Game Preview: Holden Eagles vs. Lexington Minutemen

Holden hasn't had much luck against Lexington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Holden Eagles will head out to square off against the Lexington Minutemen at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-44, which was the final score in Holden's tilt against Richmond last Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 510th, while the Spartans are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, Lexington entered their contest against Richmond on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Lexington fell just short of Richmond by a score of 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Minutemen have suffered since February 16, 2024.

Holden's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-4.

Holden ended up a good deal behind Lexington in their previous matchup back in January, losing 69-55. Can Holden avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
