Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Metrolina Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Gaston Day on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win.
The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 28-26, 25-22.
Metrolina Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Union Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Makena Gadd, who had 21 digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (25). Lauren Ratzlaff was another key player, getting 15 digs and ten assists.
Metrolina Christian Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Union Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
