Soccer Game Preview: Kenwood vs. Lane Tech

The Kenwood Broncos will venture away from home to face off against the Lane Tech Champions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Kenwood will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Kenwood proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Curie 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Kenwood were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Lane Tech faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Broncos who were credited with the win. Barrington got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to Lane Tech's seven. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Lane Tech couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Jackson Caffey, who's now up to six this season.

Lane Tech's loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1. As for Kenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1.
