Canyon's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Saturday. They never let the Kennedy Cougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cowboys also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Canyon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karina Montero, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Jazzlen Sussi also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Canyon now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Canyon will be taking part in a tournament against Granada Hills Charter at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cowboys 3.9, the Highlanders 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Kennedy, they will face off against Poly at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
