Baseball Recap: Morenci Takes a Loss

If Morenci was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Vandercook Lake on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Whiteford Bobcats on Wednesday, falling 15-3. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Talan Kruse and Skylar Trent stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kruse went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run, while Trent went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That triple marked the first that Kruse has hit this season.

Morenci's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Whiteford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

While Morenci had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
