Basketball Game Preview: Calvin Christian Crusaders vs. Bonsall Legionnaires

The Calvin Christian Crusaders will head out to challenge the Bonsall Legionnaires at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Calvin Christian managed to keep up with Fallbrook until halftime last Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Crusaders lost 76-53 to the Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, Calvin Christian got top-tier performance from Sawyer Goggin, who went 9-for-18 en route to 26 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Lapka, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 17 points along with six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Bonsall came up short against Monarch on Tuesday and fell 61-49.

Calvin Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bonsall, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Calvin Christian against Bonsall in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-24 win. In that contest, the Crusaders amassed a halftime lead of 40-10, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
