Latrell Carter Drops League-Best Effort on Friday

Starting off the list is Pine Forest's Latrell Carter, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Carter rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 51 yards.

Pine Forest has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Carter and Pine Forest will take on Triton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Isaiah Whittington's Big Game Leads Terry Sanford over Harnett Central

Isaiah Whittington was instrumental in extending Terry Sanford's winning streak to four on Friday. Whittington did his part (and then some), rushing for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 30 receiving yards for the 'W'.

This season, Whittington has run in 3 touchdowns while averaging 38.3 rushing yards per game.

Moore Came Up Big in Pine Forest's 52-32 Win

Jaidon Moore posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

For the year, Moore has thrown 12 touchdowns while averaging 151.3 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 2.14 passing yards per game.

Big Game from Kelly As Overhills Fell 12-8

While Logan Kelly delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Overhills. Kelly turned in nothing short of a gem, picking up two sacks and making 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss). He has become a key player for Overhills: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise.

Overhills' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-4. Kelly and Overhills will venture away from home to challenge Harnett Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
