Basketball Recap: Greeley County Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Greeley County can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 54-24 loss at the hands of the Quinter Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Jackrabbits couldn't push the score so high this time.

Quinter found their leader in freshman Braelyn Blackwill, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 boards. Blackwill is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bryn Gillespie, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Greeley County moved to 11-10 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points over those games. As for Quinter, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
