Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Raiders vs. Webster County Trojans

The Trinity Raiders will face off against the Webster County Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Trinity barely beat Hopkins County Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Raiders never let the Storm get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Isaac Hernandez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Trinity is 2-1 when Hernandez posts two or more runs, but 3-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Barnett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Trinity always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Webster County had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Ohio County on Monday. Considering the Trojans have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Cooper Logan's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Edens, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gunnar Boone was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Trinity and bumps their season record up to 5-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Webster County, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
