Softball Game Preview: Eastside Eagles vs. Boiling Springs Bulldogs

The Eastside Eagles will head out to face off against the Boiling Springs Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Eastside has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 8.

Last Wednesday, Eastside came up short against Berea and fell 6-3.

Julia Rollins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Eastside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Hitch, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Boiling Springs' offense. They lost 7-0 to James F. Byrnes last Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Rebels recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Boiling Springs' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Eastside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12-1.

Eastside suffered a grim 30-0 defeat to Boiling Springs when the teams last played back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
