Soccer Game Preview: Lowndes vs. Tift County

Lowndes hasn't had much luck against Tift County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lowndes Vikings will square off against the Tift County Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. Lowndes will be strutting in after a win while Tift County will be coming in after a loss.

Lowndes will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Friday, then bounced right back against Valdosta on Tuesday. Lowndes was the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Valdosta. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Lowndes' offense was hitting Valdosta from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Hayden Hunt led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Tift County lost 5-1 to Camden County on Friday. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tift County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lowndes, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Lowndes took their win against Tift County in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Lowndes repeat their success, or does Tift County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
