Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Tough Playoff Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fairfield couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Massac County Patriots by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

Jensyn Robbins paced Fairfield's offense, picking up 11 kills. Robbins got some help from Dalanie Ellis and her 17 assists.

Leading Massac County to victory were Natalie Evans and Kaylee Jones. Evans had 16 digs, while Jones had 13 digs. That's the most digs Jones has posted since back in August.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 26-12. As for Massac County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-5 record this season.

Fairfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Massac County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Carmi-White County on the 6th.
