Volleyball Recap: Buckingham Comes Up Short

If Buckingham was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Nottoway last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Amelia County Raiders on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost six in a row.

Buckingham's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Amelia County, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Buckingham and Amelia County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Knights (ranked 154th) will meet Cumberland (ranked 327th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Amelia County will take on Lunenburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (78 vs. 216).
