Baseball Game Preview: Bethel Bruins vs. Hampton Crabbers

For the second straight game, Bethel will face off against Hampton. The Bruins will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Crabbers at 4:30 p.m. Bethel has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Hampton will come in with 19 straight victories.

On Tuesday, Bethel didn't have quite enough to beat Hampton and fell 3-2.

For Hampton's part, Toby Weymouth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Weymouth has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hampton's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaycob Flores, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Hampton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethel struck out seven times.

Bethel now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Hampton, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-0.
