Soccer Game Preview: Seaside vs. Alisal

The Seaside Spartans will take on the Alisal Trojans at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Seaside's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Monday just wasn't the day for Seaside's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenfield on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 838th, while the Bruins are ranked 414th).

Meanwhile, Alisal's game on Monday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Monterey by a score of 2-1.

Alisal's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1-4 and their overall record down to 6-4-5. As for Seaside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11-2.
