Volleyball Recap: Middletown Middies vs. Sycamore Aviators
Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Sycamore Aviators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Middies of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11, 25-8.
Sycamore had a senior duo take command as Reese Kuhlman had five aces and Emily Balent had three digs and three aces. Balent is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last four games she's played.
Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Sycamore, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Middletown will welcome Stebbins at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Stebbins is coming into the contest with six straight victories on the road, so Middletown will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Sycamore, they will venture away from home to challenge Roger Bacon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
