Volleyball Game Preview: Winchester Red & Black vs. Wakefield Memorial Warriors

Winchester has gone a perfect 9-0 against Wakefield Memorial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Red & Black are taking a road trip to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Winchester comes in on ten and Wakefield Memorial on four.

Winchester hadn't beaten Barnstable on the road since November 13, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Red & Black put the hurt on the Red Hawks with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Winchester was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Wakefield Memorial earned a 3-1 win over Wayland on Tuesday.

Wakefield Memorial had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-17, 25-11, 27-25.

Winchester's record is now 10-0. As for Wakefield Memorial, their record now sits at 9-3.

Everything went Winchester's way against Wakefield Memorial in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as Winchester made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red & Black since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
