Jacksboro didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Tolar to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Pardue for the heroic effort on defense: he. Jacksboro hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.64 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Jacksboro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kris Wicks and Kase Dennis.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blue Ridge). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Blooming Grove 59-6. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while the Lions are ranked 1065th).
Blue Ridge's win came from a few key players Jacksboro will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Walker, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, and also caught one TD. Michael Santillano was another key player, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Blue Ridge, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Caleb Gaddis, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Jacksboro's record now sits at 7-4. As for Blue Ridge, their record is now 6-4.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Jacksboro has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 285.4 passing yards per game. Blue Ridge, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 197.7 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
