With a playoff win on the line, Homewood-Flossmoor rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 76-46 victory over the Romeoville Spartans. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 games by 26 points or more this season.

Homewood-Flossmoor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darrius Hawkins Jr led the charge by shooting 50% from the field on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those seven boards gave Hawkins Jr a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Tyler, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 20 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Hawkins Jr wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Homewood-Flossmoor was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. Homewood-Flossmoor is a perfect 27-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Homewood-Flossmoor pushed their record up to 29-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.7 points. As for Romeoville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-17 record.

Coming up, Homewood-Flossmoor will take on Bloom at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloom will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Homewood-Flossmoor surely won't give up without a fight. Romeoville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
