The Danville Ironmen will square off against the Shikellamy Braves at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Danville knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Shikellamy likes a good challenge.
Danville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Selinsgrove, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Danville blew past Selinsgrove 12-2 on Friday. Considering the Ironmen have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cole Duffy made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those hits were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Danville got a massive performance out of Lincoln Diehl, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Diehl has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Shultz, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Danville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Shikellamy lost 13-2 to North Schuylkill on Saturday. The Braves have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
Shikellamy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Yarger, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
Shikellamy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Danville, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Danville was able to grind out a solid victory over Shikellamy in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, winning 8-4. Does Danville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shikellamy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
