Baseball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Italy on Friday, Meridian came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets fell 4-1 to the Gladiators on Saturday. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gladiators earlier this season, when they won 12-3.

Meridian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Italy, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Meridian beat the Gladiators by a score of 4-1 on Monday.
