Baseball Game Preview: Barneveld Eagles vs. Ithaca Bulldogs

The Barneveld Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Ithaca Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Barneveld 3.5, Ithaca 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Barneveld will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Weston on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Silver Eagles an 11-0 shutout. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 15-0).

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Ithaca made sure to put some runs up on the board against North Crawford on Monday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Trojans.

Ithaca is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Barneveld, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Barneveld came out on top in a nail-biter against Ithaca when the teams last played back in May of 2023, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
