Volleyball Recap: Middleborough Takes a Loss

Middleborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Durfee Hilltoppers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilltoppers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 two weeks ago.

While Middleborough ultimately came up short, they really made Durfee work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 26-24, 25-23.

Durfee found their leader in sophomore Kara Raposa, who had six aces. With that strong performance, Raposa is now averaging an impressive 3.5 aces per game.

Middleborough's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Durfee, their record now sits at 4-12.

Middleborough didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Rockland on the 16th. As for Durfee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Taunton on the 15th.
