Volleyball Recap: Weir Takes a Loss

Weir lost against Tyler back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Riders came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. The Red Riders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-16, 22-20.

Ella Kaufman paced Weir's offense, picking up 14 kills. Kaufman got some help from Amalia Kirlangitis and her 22 assists. Kaufman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Weir's loss dropped their record down to 6-15-1. As for Tyler, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weir will welcome Madonna at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tyler, they will be playing at home against Wheeling Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
