Baseball Recap: Spring-Ford Takes a Loss

Spring-Ford was the 3-2 winner over Methacton when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Freed was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Spring-Ford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Nelson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Nelson's first of the season.

Spring-Ford's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Methacton, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
