Newberry won the last time they faced Whitmire and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Wolverines. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Newberry now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Whitmire, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Looking ahead, Newberry will be playing at home against Swansea at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Whitmire, they will head out to face off against Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Flashes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.29 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of.
