Hickory faced Western Branch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Hawks skirted past the Bruins 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Hickory's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Western Branch, they moved to 15-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-match winning streak.

Coming up, Hickory will welcome First Colonial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Western Branch, they are taking a road trip to square off against Menchville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
