Volleyball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Culver Community

Culver Community hadn't done well against Triton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Cavaliers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Cavaliers: when they faced off against the Trojans last Thursday, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

While Culver Community might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Triton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20.

Ashlynn Berndt paced Culver Community's offense, picking up seven kills. Berndt were helped by Chloe Lewis and Sophie Grossman-Norris, who contributed seven assists each. Hayden Lute and Olivia Davis kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clara Doll, who had ten assists and five digs.

The win (which was Culver Community's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6. As for Triton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Culver Community wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Caston on the 13th. As for Triton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Knox on the 13th.
