Baseball Recap: Lennard Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Strawberry Crest, Lennard was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Sumner Stingrays 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-4 back in March.

Jv Brennick tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Lennard is 4-2 when Brennick allows two or fewer earned runs, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Lennard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Newman, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Lennard is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sumner, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Lennard will be playing at home against Steinbrenner at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sumner, they will challenge Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
