Softball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Oxbridge Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Parkridge Christian Panthers on the board, marking the ThunderWolves' second-straight 11-0 shutout. Considering the ThunderWolves have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabella Penbe tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Oxbridge Academy let Riley Lyons and Ila Trueblood run wild. Lyons went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Trueblood went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Trueblood has launched this season.

Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Oxbridge Academy and bumps their season record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Parkridge Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Oxbridge Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-2 victory against Cardinal Newman on the 16th. Parkridge Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
