Basketball Recap: Ridge Community Falls Short of Haines City in the Playoffs

Ridge Community and Haines City squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Ridge Community had to settle for second. They took a 68-52 bruising from the Haines City Hornets. The Bolts' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row.

Haines City had a senior duo take command as Eddy Hyppolite Jr. went 8 for 13 on his way to 23 points and four steals and Kobe Key went 8 of 17 en route to 20 points along with six boards and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Key has scored all season. Delenge Jean was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Ridge Community's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Haines City, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Ridge Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Haines City, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Osceola's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while Haines City has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
