Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Hazel Orr and Addelyn Widmer Lead Buckingham Charter to Victory

There's no place like home for Buckingham Charter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Cristo Rey Saints on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 two weeks ago.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-19, 25-13.

Buckingham Charter was led to victory by Addelyn Widmer and Hazel Orr. Widmer had five aces and four blocks, while Orr had eight aces and three assists. That's the most blocks Widmer has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Lozano, who had three aces and one block.

They weren't the only good server: Buckingham Charter was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 25 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cristo Rey only served nine aces.

Buckingham Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Cristo Rey, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Buckingham Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Sacramento Adventist on the 15th. As for Cristo Rey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on the 16th.
