Baseball Game Preview: Monrovia Wildcats vs. Village Christian Crusaders

The Monrovia Wildcats will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against the Village Christian Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Monrovia nor Village Christian posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Monrovia is leaving town to face Village Christian after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Monrovia fell 5-2 to Mayfair on Monday.

Monrovia got a good showing from Alex Myers, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Myers also gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Kaleb Ellison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Village Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Golden Valley out 1-0. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
