For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Wingate and Tohatchi meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. Wingate lost 13-3 to Tohatchi. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wingate fell to 3-1. As for Tohatchi, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Wingate is taking a road trip to challenge Zuni at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Wingate their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Tohatchi, they will be playing at home against Thoreau at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thoreau has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.38 runs per game on average), something Tohatchi will no doubt try to take advantage of.
