Volleyball Game Preview: Edgewood Red Wolves vs. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers

Edgewood hasn't had much luck against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Wolves will square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Edgewood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Edgewood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over West Shore.

Edgewood can attribute much of their success to Debbie Walley, who hit 75% for six kills and 13 digs and five aces, and Erica Flagg, who had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most kills Walley has posted over her last eight matches. Alyssa Passmore also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy made easy work of Melbourne Central Catholic on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Edgewood better focus on containing Natalie Ruberte and Kilee Whyte as the pair were huge in Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's win. Ruberte had 12 digs, while Whyte had five digs. Ruberte has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times she's played.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests.

Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.
