Soccer Game Preview: Coal Ridge vs. Steamboat Springs

The Coal Ridge Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Steamboat Springs Sailors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coal Ridge is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Steamboat Springs better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Coal Ridge's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Coal Ridge really gets things going. Everything went the Titans' way against Palisade as they made off with a 6-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Coal Ridge, who have now won seven matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Steamboat Springs was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Pine Creek could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Steamboat Springs' goal came courtesy of Cesar Carrillo, who's now up to three this season.

Steamboat Springs' draw gives them a new season record of 5-3-1. As for Coal Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 8-2-1.

Coal Ridge beat Steamboat Springs by a goal in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
