Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Franklin Academy had won three straight games and Rayne Bookhart did her part to make it four on Monday. The Franklin Academy Patriots took their matchup with ease, bagging a 63-17 victory over the Henderson Collegiate Pride thanks in part to Bookhart, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 18 points. The game was her third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Coward, who posted six points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Franklin Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Henderson Collegiate, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Franklin Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. After both having extra time off, Henderson Collegiate and Discovery Charter School will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
