Game recap
CATAWBA, N.C. -
Alexander Central (Taylorsville, N.C.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 16 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 26-16 victory over
Bandys (Catawba, N.C.).
After nabbing the lead on a
Logan Hughes touchdown run, the Trojans went into halftime with a 10-6 lead. The Cougars took the lead for good with a touchdown run by
Devante Clark in the third quarter.
The result came as a big surprise as Bandys came in ranked No. 190 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for North Carolina, while Alexander Central was ranked No. 256.
The win was a nice bounce back for AC, which lost to South Caldwell last week, 17-13. The win broke Alexander Central's two-game losing streak.
