Softball Recap: Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Starts Season with Victory Against Portsmouth

Dighton-Rehoboth Regional had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Portsmouth Patriots 10-1 on Tuesday. The Falcons are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 15 straight dating back to last season.

Cam Cloonan and Courtney Botelho did most of the damage at the plate: Cloonan scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Botelho went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Haleigh Kelley, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dighton-Rehoboth Regional will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against North Attleborough at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portsmouth, they will welcome South Kingstown at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. This will be Portsmouth's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
