Basketball Recap: Will Swann's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Daniel over Seneca

It was a proper cat-fight when Daniel faced off against Seneca on Thursday. The Daniel Lions took a hard 71-57 fall against the Seneca Bobcats. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Daniel's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Swann, who went 8 of 14 to rack up 18 points and three steals. Tristyn Carrington was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 16 points and four steals.

Seneca found their leader in freshman Jeremiah Hunter, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hunter has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Stu Finley, who went 7 for 15 to rack up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Daniel's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Seneca, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Daniel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-43 victory against Travelers Rest on the 7th. As for Seneca, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-51 win against Crescent on the 7th.
